Berczy Park

The Berczy Park South Community Park project involved the construction of a full sized sand-based soccer field which was fully irrigated and tile drained.  An elaborate multi-level poured in place concrete bleacher feature in combination with prefabricated steel trellis structures bordered the soccer field.  The Park also featured the installation of a double tennis court facility, as well as a full sized basketball court which were coated with rubberized plexipave surfacing.  An intricate poured in place concrete Skate Park was also constructed, as was Junior and Senior Playground areas.  These amenities were complemented with an exterior fitness equipment area, and Park lighting.  The Park features were linked with a detailed array of concrete and asphalt walkways, leading from the half acre asphalt parking lot area.  Prior to the construction of the above Park features, an extensive cut and fill operation of site fill material took place to achieve the proposed design grades.  Excess fill material was trucked off site as required.  Following the earthworks operation, the site was serviced with a combination of 12 Catchbasin/Manhole Structures and 490 metres of sewer pipe with sizes ranging from 200mm to 400mm in diameter.  A water service was brought into the Park site as well to supply the irrigation system.  The Park features were rounded out with an extensive tree planting installation.
